During the Day of the Dead celebrations in Puerto Vallarta, which typically span from late October to early November, visitors can expect to witness a rich tapestry of traditions deeply rooted in Mexican culture.

One prominent feature of these festivities is the creation of ofrendas, or altars, both in private homes and cemeteries. These ofrendas are adorned with marigold flowers, sugar skulls, candles, and offerings of the deceased's favorite foods and beverages, creating a solemn and visually stunning display.

The days leading up to November 2nd are marked by lively parades and processions throughout the city. Participants don traditional Catrina and Catrin costumes, characterized by painted faces and elegant attire. Mariachi bands serenade the streets with melancholic yet beautiful melodies, adding to the overall atmosphere.
